Useful Information


Rally pilots should ensure they have completed registration forms online prior to the event. On arrival at Tibenham, please proceed to the registration desk in the clubhouse before pitching tents or caravans, as a pitch will be assigned for you. Once the necessary paperwork is completed, you will receive a welcome pack containing information about the rally, and a photo ID card. It is very important that you keep your ID with you at all times, as all P1 pilots will be required to show it when launching. If you have not provided a reasonable photo for the ID prior to arrival then registration will be delayed or even deferred so that we can process your ID Card.

Office Hours

The office in the Clubhouse will be open for pilot registrations, merchandise and voucher sales, or any other enquiries during the following times:

Friday 30th - Saturday 31st July 9:00 - 17:00 (closed during opening ceremony on Saturday)
1st - 8th August 9:00 - 11:00, 14:00 - 15:00
After 8th August Please report to the Clubhouse

Outside of these hours any enquiries should be directed to any member of the VGC Rally team who will be happy to assist. They can be easily identified from their name-tags and "Rally Staff" T-shirts.

Launch Vouchers

During the rally we will be using a voucher system for providing glider launches. Vouchers can be purchased from the office for either a winch launch or 2000 foot aerotow, and can be used be any registered pilot in any registered glider. Please ensure to complete all the details on the voucher before your flight, and hand the voucher to the launch marshal on request. He will then return the landing certificate portion to you for the flight, and you should hand this to the retrieve driver on landing.


Payments for merchandise and launch vouchers can be paid in cash, and we will be accepting Pound Sterling and Euros (the exchange rate will be published at the time based on current rates). We can also accept card payments from recognised credit or debit cards (Visa or Mastercard).


Our resident caterers, Eddie and Rachael Applegate and their team, will be providing food and drink throughout the event. Our licensed bar will be available throughout the day serving alcoholic and soft drinks (don't worry the beer fridge will be well stocked!), and the kitchen will be serving food as follows:

Breakfast (Full English and Continental) 8:00 - 10:30
Lunch (Sandwiches and other cold snacks) 10:30 - 18:00
Dinner (must be booked before 17:30 on that day) 18:00 - 21:00

Campsite for Tents and Caravans

You will be allocated a pitch on arrival, and these pitches are based on the requirements as entered on the website - please ensure these are correct beforehand as this will considerably speed up the process. A pitch ID tag will be provided, and this should be fixed to a tent guide rope, or placed in your caravan/motorhome/campervan window.

If you are not registered as a rally pilot you should contact us before the rally with your camping requirements so we can ensure that there is sufficient space for you.
