Saturday 29th May - Sunday 6th June 2010
The Eastern Regional Gliding Competition, hosted by the Norfolk Gliding Club, has taken place at Tibenham for 21 years. Tibenham, a former "Mighty 8th" airfield is an ideal location and has hosted many national competitions. The airfield has plenty of space, both grass and concrete, making it ideal to launch and recover large numbers of gliders.
The Eastern Regionals offers the opportunity to take part in serious competition and at the same time have an enjoyable fun week, the team aim to provide the maximum enjoyment with maximum safety and minimum hassle. Tibenham has excellent facilities with large areas for your tent or caravan and meals are available on site in the clubhouse.
There is of course a bar to escape to in the evenings. On non-flying days Tibenham is ideal as a base for exploring Norfolk and north Suffolk with Norwich and the Norfolk Broads less than an hours driving away. There is even opportunity to see the splendid Lavenham Church from the ground, I can assure you that you will see it from the air. It is my aim to ensure that every competitor and crew has an enjoyable week.
